Just a reminder that we have a (delete as appropriate) introduction to torch running/ return to torch running/ not another bloody torch run/ tomorrow as one of the group options. It’ll be a 9km route going out to Abbeyford including a few hills and a variety of surfaces. Plenty of it unlit. Very muddy in places.
If you would like to come along but don’t have a suitable torch I’m sure we can help between us. I’ve got a couple of spares. Doesn’t need to be anything fancy.
I can see the run taking longer than an hour so please be aware of that if you have somewhere to be afterwards.

A mini series of club runs aimed at runners who would like to try, or return to torch running in a group. Come to 1, 2 or all 3.
Evening runs through Autumn and Winter don’t have to be spent pounding the tarmac under streetlights.
If you would like to run off the beaten track but lack the confidence, motivation or local knowledge these runs are for you.
We’ll go where the pavements don’t so you’ll need a torch and trainers with some grip.
This is a mixed group run. As long as you can run steadily for an hour / 10km you are welcome to join. We’ll run as a group frequently looping back so no-one is left behind.
Week 1, November 22nd: Town to Abbeyford.
A mix of unlit tarmac, fire roads, muddy footpaths and a rocky descent.

Week 2, November 29th: East Okement and Tor Down.
A run up the East Okement valley to the open Moor. Then back on the Tarka Trail to Tor Down and a 3 field descent to Fatherford.

Week 3, December 6th: The Ring Road.
It’s a local classic. And 2 days off a full moon. Running the track from Sandpits cp (above the army camp, near Rowtor) out to Okement Hill passing East and then West of East Mill Tor.
