Dartmoor Discovery, Grasmere Gallop and Run Exe 5k

Two ORCs took on some of the toughest hills Dartmoor has to offer in the 32 mile Dartmoor Discovery. Rob Kelly, no stranger to this gruelling race came back for a third time and improved on his course PB. Nick Seccombe was running his first Discovery and his first Ultra and had a great run coming in only a minute after Rob.

Mags Jarvis had travelled a little further to take part in the Grasmere Gallop Trail race in the Lake District with her daughter Sarah. Having run the 10k option on two previous occasions, she decided to tackle the 17k one this time. They both did extremely well, with Mags winning the FV60 age category while Sarah won the First Lady prize and came second overall.

Closer to home was the June round of the Run Exe Summer 5k Series. Andy Vallance, Geoff Hill, Chris Turner and Stuart May were all pleased to set new 5k PBs while Roger Voaden set a new club age category record!

The Run in the Park saw a drop in numbers but it was a fine morning nonetheless! As some of you may know, the route is actually around 100 metres more too long and this month saw the a trial of the route ‘corrected’ to 5k. The aim is to have this accurate for the one year anniversary next month when the next run will take place during Sports Week on Sunday 10th July. Please note this is the second Sunday in July!
