Bideford 10k, Imerys Trail Marathon & Exeter Marathon

A fantastic turnout of the club at the Bideford 10k on Sunday!  Twenty-seven ORCs lined up with nearly 800 other runners for this fast 10k which goes out to Instow on the road and then returns to Bideford via the Tarka Trail. The conditions were near perfect with very little wind for once on the estuary, but it did mean it became quite hot in the closing stages.

First ORC home was Jean-Paul Quertier, closely followed by the first lady ORC, Katie Littlejohns who ran a PB and sett a new club age category record as well!  It was a good day for most with Jane Jackson winning the FV60 category and several other ORCs members setting new PBs. Well done all.

ORC were providng marathon representation in both Devon and Cornwall on Sunday, with Roger Voaden, Paul Carter and Andrew Thorne taking on the newly revived Exeter Marathon and Rob Kelly, Jeremy Tandy, Nick Seccombe and Chris Turner tackling the IMERYS Trial Marathon at St Austell. Despite the hot conditions Roger continued his trend of great performance by coming fifth, with Paul and Andrew also having a good run. The heat tested the runners at IMERYS but they pushed through, led by Rob, his third trip to this race, Jeremy shortly after and with Nick and Chris not far behind.

There are plenty of photos, which will be added to the gallery shortly.

Many thanks to Jane for the run report
