Beer & Bacon, North Devon Marathon & Torbay Half

A busy weekend for ORC!

Katie Littlejohns took to the fells and ran in the Dartmoor Beer and Bacon Fell Race. She continued her excellent form and finished as first lady overall! The race took in Brat Tor, Hare Tor and Great Links Tor as well as some cooling river crossings. Well done Katie!

In North Devon Jeremy Tandy and Matt Bailey took part in an event which has quickly established itself as one of the most challenging and visually stunning races in the UK. Matt opted for the half marathon and completed the course finishing in a great time placing 15th overall. Jeremy, no stranger to demanding runs, having completed the Dartmoor Challenge and IMERYS marathons earlier in the year, opted for the full marathon. After 26.2 miles including over 3000ft of ascent he finished in a very respectable 32nd overall and 6th in his age group.

At Torbay six ORCs took part in the half marathon which contained just one small hill between Paignton and Torquay – nothing those who run in Okehampton can’t handle! Graham Bryant, Anne Binns, Lora Medland, Caroline Wilson, Claire Kelly and Andy Humberstone all completed the race and came away with a fetching tshirt and medal. Well done all!

Many thanks to Mags for the run report
